Pioneer provides professional trailer training to students across Alberta on a regular basis. On-site training courses can be booked to suit your schedule or location and can help reduce travel costs for larger groups at work-sites.

Course Description
The Pioneer Offroad Rentals Trailer Training Course provides both in class and practical field training surrounding trailer use. Students learn how to properly maneuver trailers up to 8 metres in length, as well as enhance their driving skill and awareness through a one-hour classroom session and 2-3 hours hands on in-vehicle session.

Learning Outcomes
Classroom Session:

  • Proper hitching and pulling procedures
  • Safe cargo loading and off-loading procedures
  • Information on equipment and personal safety
  • Securing the load properly on a trailer
  • Backing up procedures and spotter hand signals
  • Provincial regulations

On-Road Session:

  • A one-hour drive in an urban or rural setting.
  • Instructor will observe and evaluate a wide range of driving behaviours.
  • Skills training (serpentine, backing, turning, mirror usage) activities with instructor.
  • Backing procedures, evaluation and coaching with instructor.

Canada’s north country can be challenging and not all of our customers are comfortable on every machine we rent. That's why we provide both in-person and online training on every unit we sell, alongside special safety training that can support our customers no matter what terrain they encounter. Individual online training can be completed at your own pace, or in-person group training can be arranged for a date and location of your convenience.
